CASTLE STREET MARKET is one of the most well established markets in Edinburgh, running since 2007. The market has to be in one of the world's most beautiful locations on Castle Street, in the heart of Edinburgh, looking up to the majestic Edinburgh Castle, facing onto Princes Street. To the rear of the market, with the hustle and bustle of Rose Street and George Street, this location is beloved by locals, tourists and visitors.
If you are an independent food producer or a maker, designer, jeweller, fashion creator, artist, photographer or you focus on helping others through fair & ethical trade, please be in touch if you would like the opportunity to join us at one of our forthcoming markets.
In 2024, LocalMotive Markets and sister company Hand Up Events are organising markets throughout the year and have dates for your diaries. Most of the markets we organise are for seven days, however our dates are extended during the wonderful Edinburgh Festival and Christmas period.

Castle Street faces onto Princes Street and looking up to Edinburgh Castle with the most fabulous views. Most of our markets run for a week, apart from the Edinburgh Fringe and the festive time. We provide exhibitors every support on the trading days, as well as the overnight security. We also provide the 3x3 gazebos. CASTLE STREET MARKET is one of the most well established Christmas markets in Edinburgh, running since 2007. A beautiful outdoor market with plenty of festive atmosphere held in bright coloured 3 meter gazebos, the market fit illed with quality beautiful gifts as well food and drinks, and hot food.Castle Street has to be one of the most beautiful locations in the UK, facing onto Princes Street and looking up to Edinburgh Castle, surrounded by shops on Princes Street and with Rose Street and George Street to the rear. This year with ice skating, funfair rides and a whole lot of festive activities taking place across the city, we are so excited to be welcoming everyone soon, for a fantastic four week Christmas market right in the heart of Edinburgh. In the heart of central Edinburgh, Castle Street, between Princes Street and Rose Street is the most incredible location for shopping - attracting locals, visitors and tourists to this wonderful street all year long. With 14 years experience of running events on Castle Street, we will make sure you have most positive time under LocalMotive Market (LMM) Fairs and/or our sister company Hand Up Events (HUE) Fairs. We provide robust gazebos, set these up for our exhibitors and provide overnight security, as well as the support during our week-long fairs. CASTLE STREET CHRISTMAS MARKET 2020
3 – 23 December Home for our Christmas events since 2007, LocalMotive Markets is delighted to run this year’s Castle Street Market, filled with an abundance of quality gifts and delicious food choices, for 28 consecutive days! From Thursday 3 December to Wednesday 23 December, this lovely market will be taking place in brightly coloured 3 meter robust gazebos, and with an overnight security provided. We have a limited number of stalls and we would like to invite local as well as wider Scottish businesses to join us! Preference, as always, will be given to those who make their own products and/or source them ethically and responsibly. Please note, bookings are by the week, upon a successful application form, depending on the availability. Traders can choose to select one, two or three weeks and have an option of a corner or middle stall. *Presently we have availability for both corner stalls with two sides and mid stalls with one side. Looking up to Edinburgh Castle and facing onto Princes Street, and with Rose Street and George Street at your back, this is a stunning, central, and very visible market location. In-line with Government’s measures, there will be several restrictions in place, reviewed regularly. Everyone at the market must maintain safe distance, 2 metres at least. All of our traders will have sanitisers at their tables. Only one household per stall will be permitted.
