Ocean Terminal Market – Now Welcoming 2025 Exhibitor Applications!

Taking place on the first weekend of each month, this cosy and well-established market is located on the ground floor of Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh, facing Costa Coffee and the escalators. We welcome talented food and drink producers, artists, makers, photographers, wood crafters, ceramicists, fashion designers, and more. Handmade wooden stalls are provided, measuring approximately 160cm x 75cm x 90cm, along with chairs for your comfort.

Please note that we do not offer single-day bookings.

We are so grateful to all the shoppers and tourists who have supported our exhibitors throughout the last few years. With the Royal Yacht Britannia just next door and the Edinburgh trams stopping right outside the main doors every few minutes, Ocean Terminal enjoys a constant flow of visitors—making it an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products.

FESTIVE SEASON AT THE OCEAN TERMINAL MARKET 2023

LocalMotive Markets run yet another magical Christmas Market at the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre in 2023. This exciting annual Christmas Market took place on the following dates:

Located on the ground floor, facing onto Costa Coffee and the escalators, this indoor market takes place at Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, Edinburgh. Now trading every 1st weekend of the month!

Until the 3rd weekend of November, the Ocean Terminal Weekend Market was taking place every Saturday and Sunday, and from then onwards we were running the market for extended periods of time during the festive season last year.

Ground floor

LocalMotive Markets OCEAN TERMINAL CHRISTMAS MARKET has been taking place inside Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre since 2014. As for last year, we will be at our superb location on the ground floor, facing onto Costa Coffee, the main concourse, and escalators. Shoppers to the centre will not miss this beautifully decorated Christmas Market, brimming with local and Scottish gifts, food and drinks selection. 

Stalls can be booked by the weekend through November and then four-day periods until (and including) 23rd December.  Wooden rustic stalls (150cm x 75cm x 90cm ). Exhibitors joining us will be able to store your products overnight in a near-by unit when trading on two or more consequent days.

Ocean Terminal is much more than a shopping centre!
With one of the most visited attractions the Royal Yacht Britannia berthed next to the centre, as well as a fantastic cinema complex, numerous restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, as well as the Boardwalk/Transgression Park, a gym and a recently reopened Oceanplay Soft Play in the centre – this beloved Leith location has got something for everyone! ​

OCEAN TERMINAL MARKET 
Ground floor

Located on the ground floor, facing onto Costa Coffee and the escalators, in a spacious and visible indoor location close to one of the main entrances, Ocean Terminal Market opening times are 10 am to 6pm on Saturday and 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday. 

We can accommodate up to 8 traders who will be selling a different range of products: arts & crafts, jewellery, woodwork, homeware, soaps, as well as (non-hot) foodies, etc. Wooden handmade stalls are provided, measuring 150cm x 75cm x 90cm. If you choose to trade on both days, on Saturdays after the market finishes, you will be able to store your products overnight in a near-by unit. Assistance in wheeling in the wooden stalls provided. Products can stay on top of the table and/or beneath in the storage cupboard to make it easier for the next day set-up.

To offer more flexibility and a chance for more traders to take part of the market, we are now also accepting one-day bookings. You can either choose to join us on Saturday or Sunday, while still having an option to book both days as well. Booking the full weekend will remain at £50, while one-day booking for ether days is £30.

Ocean Terminal Christmas Market will be taking place inside a warm and festive Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre, located on the ground floor, between Costa Coffee & Gap, facing onto the main concourse and escalators. Shoppers to the centre will not miss this beautifully decorated Christmas Market, brimming with local and Scottish gifts, food, and drinks – from delicious range of bread, cakes, fudge, honey, jams and chutneys, to live art, calligraphy, quality hand made jewellery, woodworks, glass, homeware, soaps and candles, and much-much more!

Stalls can be booked by the week from Wednesday to Tuesday, except the last week (8 days), so you select a week or two of your choice, depending on the availability. *Please note, preference will be given to traders who make and design their own products and/or source them ethically.

In-line with Government’s measures, there will be several restrictions in place, reviewed regularly. Within the indoor space, face coverings are mandatory (unless exempt), everyone must maintain safe distance – 2m while visiting the indoor venue. All of our traders will have sanitisers at their tables. Only one household per stall will be permitted to browse around.

We are delighted to be at a warm and welcoming indoor area at Ocean Terminal, that is more than a shopping centre - it offers a unique shopping experience at Edinburgh's waterfront, having a great mix of retail, leisure and dining options. As well, The Royal Yacht Britannia, one of Edinburgh’s top attractions is berthed at Ocean Terminal. So it is a happening place loved by many!

The Ocean Terminal Market takes place every weekend and it is located between Costa Coffee and Gap on the ground floor, near the main entrance. We have space for 8 stalls and we give preference to local/ethical/environmental/social businesses to trade at this warm and welcoming market.

Ocean Terminal Market re-opened at the end January for Chinese New Year and Burns Day. This lovely market has moved from 1st floor to the ground floor of Ocean Terminal. We are located in the area next to Costa Coffee and GAP, facing onto the Rio Juice Bar.
 
Opening days Saturday (10am – 6pm) and Sunday (11am – 6pm). With space for maximum 8 traders, this is a great location for a market within a warm and welcoming shopping centre. For traders: please note, we will not split your booking, so you have to be available to trade both days and for the times specified.
 
We are taking bookings on first come basis and upon successful application.

In 2019
PORTA Waterfront Market

Adding a further element to the shopping experience to Ocean Terminal, this new and exciting, as well permanent and weekly run market, is offering a selection of exhibiting stalls from speciality foods to handcrafted and locally/ethically designed gifts, some of which will be made on site by the local artisans-  like Helen from Aurora gifts, our permanent jewellery and wooden boxes trader you must meet!

Exhibitor mix will often change meaning there will always be something new to discover! This is a happening place, where you can find kids activities stalls, reiki and much more, mixed with foodies and gifts stalls.

Please come and visit - PORTA Waterfront Market is open weekly Friday to Sunday 11am-7pm (Sundays from 11am until 5pm).
From November 16th PORTA became a daily CHRISTMAS Market, running all the way until the 23rd of December. Opening hours 11am - 6pm.


Ocean Terminal Market ethos is to create, run and develop a ‘market with meaning’, with exhibitors joining from a collection of local, natural and low/no plastic businesses. We welcome local/independent/ethical/ Fair Trade makers, designers and food producers with positive ethos and quality products.

As part of the LocalMotive Markets approach, the market also runs in support of young entrepreneurs - delivering an opportunity for the local businesses and young exhibitors to reach out to the community by providing them with access to sell in the busy shopping space.
