WE HOPE TO BE BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE.. but here's a wee taster from Market on the Mall last summer 2019
A summer of sunshine at Waverley Mall, we animated the roof with delicious foods and drinks, artisan crafts, local, Scottish, ethical, environmental and social enterprises were trading to thousands of shoppers passing every day - a mix of visitors, tourists and local office workers enjoyed the offering, right IN THE HEART OF EDINBURGH! and with live music, activities, community benefit, this market attracted the very best of the best.
We look forward to returning to this prime location soon, so please stay tuned.

Pulse of the Place launching the NYC Tartan Parade FUNDRAISER

Pulse of the Place, a youth samba band based in Leith, has been supporting children and young people to learn and increase their skills, build confidence and extend their outlook through recreational activities, training, etc.
Formed in 2006, classes are free to young people and there is also no audition process, meaning it is open for everyone! Highlighting the talents of young people, the youth samba band has played at many wonderful events, the biggest being Paralympics at the Olympic Park in 2012 that had been a mayor undertaking as well a mayor success!
The next positive challenge was launched yesterday at the Market on the Mall, with a shared vision for April 2020 to take forty of young drummers to join the World Fair Trade Tartan Clan at The Tartan Parade in New York City, in order to support Scotland as a Fair Trade Nation.
LocalMotive Markets (LMM) together with its sister company Hand Up Events (HUE) have been working with Pulse of the Place since the celebration of the World Fair Trade Day in 2017. Young drummers have been part of the World Fair Trade Tartan journey starting with its launch weekend at a fashionABLE event inside the Waverley station - promoting diversity, integrity, equality and inclusion. Pulse has performed at other events organised by either LMM or HUE, such as FIESTA Carnival Parade in Edinburgh (starting from Royal Mile going down the Mound into the Princes Street Gardens; Ross Band Stand), Year of Youth fashionABLE event (Scottish Parliament), Fair Trade Gathering (Usher Hall). Last year we had an honour to join Pulse at the Christmas Light Switch On – Light Night event in Edinburgh.
We feel really proud of this non for profit organisation that puts young people at the heart of everything they do - and through music, which speaks the language everyone can understand! It has been truly meaningful to work with such a positive, inclusive as well diverse group, and to see young people taking interest in Fair Trade and the importance of ethical issues.
We will be working together to make this trip of a lifetime a reality! Please like and follow Pulse of the Place at https://www.facebook.com/pulseoftheplace/ and help us to raise funds by donating through https://www.givey.com/2020visionpulseoftheplacetonyc!!
Thank you and please stay tuned for more updates!
